Photography on the farm
Non-professional photographers
If you are not a professional photographer, with paid admission, you may take as many photos on the farm as you’d like.
The flower fields offer a unique, one-of-a-kind backdrop for outstanding portraits. We highly recommend hiring a professional photographer to capture that special moment with you and your loved ones in the spring and summer flower fields.
Professional photographers
If you are a professional photographer, we no longer have a photography fee for sessions scheduled during regular business hours. You do not need to inform us that you’re setting up sessions beforehand; purchase entry tickets when they’re released (making sure everyone has a ticket- your clients and yourself), and you’re good to go!
We DO NOT allow reflectors, flash boxes, tripods, props, or any other equipment that may get in the way of other guests enjoying their visit. We reserve the right to ask you not to use these devices if we see them in use. Regular hours may differ each season and generally depend on how many daylight hours we have. We d0 offer limited early-bird and sunset tickets each season, which will be found on the ticket site when available.
Spring
Our spring flower season is usually open for 3 weeks in April (on average). Regular operating hours are usually 9-8 daily. We STRONGLY advise against setting up sessions during regular hours on SPRING weekends as they tend to be quite busy. The most flowers are typically in bloom for about 10 days in the middle of the season. Booking shoots the day we open or close the season is not advised, as those are the times with the fewest flowers in bloom. The spring season moves quickly as temperature fluctuations and other weather variables can prolong or shorten our season. Try to be flexible with your clients when scheduling spring sessions - one day could be beautiful, and the next could be cold and rainy.

summer
Our summer sunflower season usually opens in mid-July for about 4 weeks. Regular operating hours are Mornings 8-noon; we’re closed noon-4 daily for mid-day heat and Sunflower Sunsets 4-8:30 (or dusk, whichever comes first). Our summer season is typically much easier for you to plan sessions with your clients than during the 3 week spring season. Before setting up your sessions, just be aware of possible afternoon thunderstorms in the forecast.
